Buy Ford, buy green

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

Auto vehicle giants Ford are to put a jaw dropping £1 billion in developing environmentally friendly cars based in the UK. The manufacturer has decided to put the money towards diesel and petrol engines as well as specialist bio fuels from vegetation and hybrid gas/electric cars.

One of the main ideas in the pipeline is a Ford Focus that can do seventy miles per gallon whilst actually reducing carbon dioxide emissions, making it not only green but also very economic and efficient. To back this up and make the idea become a reality Ford are also planning to increase the number of engineers in the UK.

In a recent interview the vice president of Ford Europe, Lewis Booth was excited about the future “We`re talking about a suite of technologies which will include hybrid cars, but it will include continued improvements in diesel engines, I think some substantial and significant improvements in petrol engines, weight reduction techniques, and some micro-hybrids as well,” before later adding that the money will also be used on other brands like Volvo, Jaguar and Land Rover.

The press have seen this investment as a huge vote of confidence not only for Ford but also British hard work and ability during a difficult financial period where not every auto company have been able to build profit making vehicles in the UK.

There are currently over 35,000 people in the UK alone working for Ford this includes sites in Coventry in the Midlands, Gaydon in Warwickshire and Dunton in Essex.

Computer Accessories, Laptop Stand Has Legs And Fans, Allows Internet Surfing In Bed

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

Laptop cooling pads and notebook fans extend the life of the laptop, but they’re limited to desk use. That is unless you expect a Spanish Inquisition girth-loss program.

Nobody really expects that. Here’s a laptop stand that cools while you surf on the bed or anywhere other than the desk.

There are laptop stands and laptop fans and never the twain shall meet.

That’s really a shame, because while the laptop computer desk is a great laptop accessory it doesn’t help you extend the life of your laptop and a laptop fan will only cool your laptop on your bed if you’ve got some sadistic hatred of leg hair.

So it is about time that someone came out with a laptop tray that’ll also keep the notebook cool.

Wholesale laptop accessory manufacturer, Chinavasion, has put together a very nice notebook table that will put other laptop desks to shame.

The Deluxe Notebook Computer Work Station is a laptop desk that manages to stick in both the functions of a portable laptop stand and a notebook cooling pad.

The result: it cools like a netbook fan and keeps the weight off your legs like a laptop bed desk.

The bed table looks pretty slick in gadget black. The laptop table is also pretty sturdy being constructed out of aluminum.

The bed desk has two movable legs so that you could potentially set it up on the sofa, on the floor or on the bed depending on where you wanted the laptop desk stand.

The laptop computer stand is still light and compact enough to be thrown into your suitcase for your next trip on the road.
Check out the specs for this cool computer accessory at http://www.chinavasion.com or visit Chinavasion for more great deals on wholesale computer and laptop accessories.

GSM Transmitters, how to be in control by phone

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

In order to protect our interests, both personal and financial, we all know that you cannot always trust everyone around you. Be it a longtime business partner, or an apparently faithful wife or husband, or even your son, when the figures at stake are substantial, you can never be completely sure about the trustworthiness of those who have access to your secrets or your funds.

For example, your writer has an almost first-hand experience: One of my friends was running an
Even though it may not look nice, we may have to think of a solution to keep others under control, to make sure that they are always reliable. More and more, we happen to read on newspapers and magazines about how people were spied on, and learn about new ingenious methods to keep others under control, which use combinations of different technologies.

The increasing potential for interactivity of different standards is bringing us devices which are the combination of two concepts apparently not designed for working together.
For example we can have internet-operated home appliances that can be activated from work so that your oven or bath can be warm when you are home, or, talking about surveillance technology, there are listening devices that work like a mobile phone… without actually being a mobile phone.

The trick is easy: A so called GSM Audio transmitter is nothing but a so called bug or microtransmitter, equipped with a SIM card, and is configured to eavesdrop conversations around it, relaying them to a third-party listener via a simple phone call.
Just like the oven or bath of the example above, they can be activated or configured remotely, simply by SMS (don’t forget that a SIM card is actually a phone number), so sending a particular SMS message would result in activating/deactivating the device.
As said above, the keyword in modern technologies is miniaturization, and such kind of audio transmitters is no exception to the rule, as one can find full-powered GSM quadriband audio transmitters, with all the capabilities of the GSM telephone trasnsmission technology, as tiny as a 2 Euro coin. This makes it easy to conceal them in hidden corners like drawers, flowerpots or even inside a car, where they can be connected to the accumulator, ensuring unlimited connection time. It can also be used to track down movements of the vehicle under surveillance, as it would automatically send am SMS when the vehicle itself is started or turned off.

In a few words, if you are concerned about the ones you trust (family members, business partners, employees), a device as small as a coin would allow you to make sure that your trust is well placed, and it would do it… by phone!

How to choose a mobile broadband package?

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

Mobile Broadband has revolusionised the consumer and business broadband market. It gives consumers the ability to access broadband speed Internet where ever they have a laptop and a USB mobile broadband modem.

But with all of the convenience of mobile broadband, it is important to choose the best mobile broadband package for your needs. Mobile Broadband packages are now offered from all of the UK mobile phone operators with many operators providing a vast number of tariffs. Because of this, it is important to consider the following criteria when looking to choose a provider.

Contract Term

Are you prepared to commit to a mobile broadband service for a long period of time? The longer you will commit to a package, the better the deal available. Most of the providers offer packages from 12 to 24 months.

Speed of Service

Do you know your key criteria for purchasing a mobile broadband solution? Are your requirements fairly straight forward? If your main need for the mobile broadband connection is just to send emails and browse the web, then your requirements for speed will be less than if you are going to want to download music and video. Mobile broadband speeds range from 3.6Mbps to 7.2Mbps.

Coverage of Service

The key thing to be aware of when choosing a mobile broadband package is that the mobile broadband providers use the mobile phone networks to deliver the service. Because of this, it is important to check on your chosen provider`s website to ensure that you are able to receive good coverage where you live.

Sign Up Costs

Some networks will come with a sign up cost. This will normally be associated with lower term contracts.

Monthly Downloads

As with speed of service, it is also worth considering your usage with regard to how much data you will want to download in the month. This is because all mobile broadband providers offer packages with download limits. These can range from 3GB to 15GB per month. If you go over your limits, some networks will charge you. Because of this, it is important to ensure that you sign up for the package most suited to your requirements.

Which mobile broadband network to choose?

All of the uk mobile phone operators now offer mobile broadband services. These include Orange, 3, Vodafone, O2, T-Mobile and Virgin. Packages vary from network to network so it is worth checking what will be the best package for you.

Mobile Broadband Free Netbook Deals

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

2008 was the year that mobile broadband really moved into the mainstream and 2009 looks set to be the year that it will explode. Mobile Broadband uses the mobile operator`s 3G networks to deliver super fast broadband Internet speeds for its users. The service is accessed through a USB modem and provides the user the ability to access broadband speed Internet where ever they have a laptop and a USB modem offering complete mobility.

Another key element of mobile broadband is that there is no longer the need to have a fixed telephone line to access a broadband connection. This means that it is easy to move home without worrying about long term phone line and broadband contracts.

Mobile Broadband is provided by mobile phone operators and they offer many variations of packages and tariffs.

A growing option provided by mobile broadband companies is free netbook packages.
Netbooks are gaining more and more market share in the mobile computing market. There are many great models now available from all of the major computer manufacturers. They are called Netbooks as they were designed to be a practical and small laptop computer with scaled down functionality and performance. This is so that it can easily be transported and used to access the Internet and carry out some basic tasks such as word processing.

The netbook trend wasn`t actually started by one of the more obvious companies. Although they are now available from companies such as Sony and Toshiba, it was actually Asus that started the trend with their Asus Eee PC.

It is now possible to get the Asus Eee PC with a number of mobile broadband packages from providers such as Orange. The netbook comes with mobile broadband functionality built in so there is no requirement for an external USB modem. This adds to the practicality of the netbook.

Wii code, Wii ID, Wii Friend code, Wii Wi-Fi code … what are those and where do you get them?

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

Each Wii system has a 16 digit code, for the system itself. The wii console code is used to send messages to your friends.

Each game that uses the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection generates a unique 12 digit friend code that can be exchanged with friends and be used to maintain individual friend lists in each game. It is kind of annoying to have to do each time you get a new game, but once your registered and you registered your friends, you`re in the clear.

So, don`t get confused. The Wii console and Wii online games have different codes. The Wii codes you need to know are the Wii console code and the Wii friend code. When you are asked for a Wii code, it is usually one of these two.

You use your Wii`s code when sending messages to friends via the message board under the Wii menu, and you use the individual code on each game for Wi-Fi playing. Accessing your friend code is different for each of your games. Only some games are WiFi playable, so check the back of the box if you`re unsure.

How do you know what your friend code is for the wii?

I`ll walk you there with my wii.

First, go to the place with all the channels (Wii menu)
Second, on the lower right hand corner you will see an
envelope (wii message board) click on it.
Third, on your lower left hand corner, right next to calender, you will see an icon of a piece of paper with a black pen over it (create messages) click on it.
Fourth, click on the third choice to the right (Address book), and then click on it. Your friend code will be there. It will say
“This console`s Wii Number”
Your code looks like this: 1234 – 5678 – 9012 – 3456

Your Friend Code is for online for your friends. So if you just want a random person as your friend for Online only, give them ur FC. If you want to add friend codes, click register
(also in address book) and then type in your friend`s friend code.

Many games have additional features that are enabled between two registered friends. These may include customized matchmaking options, cooperative play, friend lists, text chat, and voice chat.

If a user needs to replace his or her DS system, then the old system`s Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection ID can be transferred wirelessly, to maintain the user`s original Friend codes on the new machine.

Hey Wii Fans! Here`s How You Can Copy Wii Games

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

Want to Know How To Burn Wii Games? Here`s How!

Do you have a Nintendo Wii? This amazingly popular system has a unique gameplay style and many fun games to offer. That`s why we`re not surprised that so many people are interested in copying their Wii games as backups in case the originals are damaged.

These games may come on disks that look a lot like a standard burnable CD or DVD, but they can`t be copied in exactly the same way. The process to do this is a little more complex. here`s a guide that`ll tell you all about the basics of game copying, as well as when you should do it.

Regular disk burning software won`t be able to copy Wii games the same way as it can an audio CD. Nero, Roxio, and other similar top of the line programs aren`t able to make copies of these disks because of the encoded copy protection that keeps your computer from reading them.

Like most types of copy protection, of course, someone quickly came up with a way to copy these disks without problems. The best way to do this is using programs capable of breaking through the Wii game`s copy protection.

After installing software of this type, it`s really quite easy to copy the game itself. Suddenly, your computer can understand data that it couldn`t read before. This is true whether the game is on the Wii or another system.

Even some of the copy protection encryption used by PC games can be broken by programs of this kind. If you own more than one system, you can use this software to make backup copies of all your games, not just the ones for the Wii.

Once you`ve found the right program to help you break this encryption, and you`ve managed to install it on your computer, the next thing to do is copy the game data as a disk image. After you`ve placed this image on your computer`s hard drive, you`ll be able to insert a blank disk and burn the image onto it without any problems.

Functions for burning and copying your disks may be included with your decryption program, allowing you to avoid ordinary burners entirely if you choose. Using these functions means you`ll have a much lower chance of errors when copying the disk.

Copying programs are now available which allow you to copy your games without needing to do more than go through a few menus and click a few buttons. Wii game copying is an excellent way to back up any game at all. After all, a backup is a great way to make sure the original stays in good shape.
