Computer Accessories, New Cooling Fan Leaves Laptop Computers Cooled And Connected

Saturday, January 10th, 2009

Laptops are a great device to help you stay working no matter where you are. But your average notebook computer usually has two faults:

* The laptop computer gets very hot very quickly
* And laptop computers often lack the USB ports needed to get the wholesale computer accessories and external memory devices needed in day-to day life (MacBook Air anyone?)

This is a problem anyone using your average notebook cooling fan because it invariably takes up valuable USB port space without giving you any other options.

Wholesale computer accessory supplier, Chinavasionhas taken this into consideration and have come up with something they think will solve the laptops computer shortage of USB ports and its tendency to overheat.

The premium notebook computer cooling pad is such a creature. Coming with three cooling fans, four USB ports (in) and one mini USB port (out) this is one notebook cooling pad that’s got its bases covered.

This laptop cooling system from Chinavasion tries to make sure that all makes and models of notebook computers are covered by making all of the cooling fans adjustable so that no cooling fan is in the wrong place. This laptop cooling fan is fairly solid too, being constructed out of industrial-grade plastic.

But where this laptop cooler has its bases covered though is the inclusion of the extra USB ports. Theoretically it will mean that instead of plugging in a notebook cooling pad and a USB hub you just plug in a laptop fan. That’s got to be a bonus for people with a laptop notebook that work from home and don’t have too much table space that they can use.

With this computer accessory being offered for wholesale prices you can bet this laptop pad will definitely turn up in some computer stores in the very near future as a laptop cooling solution.
Check out the specs for this great laptop cooling fan at http://www.chinavasion.com or see what other great other wholesale computer accessories Chinavasion has in store.

Reciprocal Linking Leaves Way for Link triangulation and Quadrangulation

Friday, December 19th, 2008

Reciprocal linking has been a widely used strategy for web promotion, in spite of requiring significant effort from us webmasters. First you need to evaluate the convenience of every exchange, then do the actual link publishing and finally, it is necessary a periodical check-up of the corresponding link prevalence.

Trying to make things easier for busy webmasters, a wide number of Link Exchange Managers have appeared. These tools are now a very competitive field in the e-Marketing arena. As a result, links in the web have grown much faster than quality contents.

The main purpose of current reciprocal linking is to earn link popularity in the search engines, which means better ranking. However, it ads very little value to the Web, and takes away traffic in the same way as it brings it in.

For the search engines, telling good from bad links is getting more and more difficult, and it makes sense for them to penalize such links.

We have found several evidences showing that reciprocal links are outmoded.

“Google has started to penalize sites that provide two-way links to each other”
http://www.ezgenerator.com/blog/180_blog.php?action=frontpage&entry_id=1134567055&comments=comments

“As of October 2005, Google appears to have implemented a new penalty on sites which are excessive with their reciprocal link exchanging”.
http://www.ringjohn.com/reciprocal_link_building.html

“Having too many reciprocal links eventually works against you.”
http://affiliatetip.com/news/article00368.php

Are Reciprocal Links Dead?
http://www.webstatsgold.com/are-reciprocal-links-dead.htm

To verify it, we selected the first 100 websites found in the Google SERP under “SEO”, and ran Back Link Analyzer version 2, which simplifies the analysis task. This tool is free and anyone can check our results.

Reciprocal link exchange can be hard to detect, because it might require complete spidering of both sites. We established a 3-level limit in our crawling.

Some of our findings:

• There was no correlation between ranking and incoming links.

• There was no correlation between ranking and PageRank.

• Keyword density in the domain was a weak indicator of better ranking

• Keyword density inside the home page was irrelevant.

• Keyword density inside the incoming links (anchor text) was relevant. This is the single most valuable ranking factor publicly known, so far.

• Reciprocal linking, either in absolute or relative terms, was found to have a weak negative correlation with ranking.

This facts confirm our perception that more and more sites are now focusing on non-reciprocal inbound links. However, those must be earned with quality content or plainly purchased.

Much easier is a new mode of link exchange, involving triangulation or better yet, quadrangulation.

Triangulation is more difficult to detect than 2-way linking, and quadrangulation even harder. Both techniques are useful for webmasters who manage several websites, since they can use some domains for outgoing links and some for incoming links. Quadrangulation makes easier to compensate the value of incoming vs. outcoming links.

A new generation of Link Exchange Managers with Triangulation and Quadrangulation ability is appearing. Whether Google and Yahoo will start detecting and battling the new schemes is yet too soon to speculate.

Knysna in South Africa meaning `place of wood`, or it could mean `fern leaves`

Saturday, December 13th, 2008

The name Knysna is a Khoi word but it`s uncertain as to its exact meaning. It could mean `place of wood`, or it could mean `fern leaves`, but its most probable meaning is straight down` – an obvious reference to the Heads. Knysna Heads must be the most striking geological features along the entire southern African coastline. They flank a deep but potentially treacherous channel through which the sea pours in to flood the wide and breathtakingly pretty lagoon at the mouth of the Knysna River.

Knysna`s history began in the year 1804, the year that saw the arrival of George Rex, rumoured to be the illegitimate son of King George lll. He purchased the estate known as Melkhoutkraal on the shores of the lagoon and moved his entire family and considerable entourage down to Knysna to settle.

Knysna is one of the Southern Cape coast`s best known holiday destinations, situated between lush forests and the shores of the peaceful lagoon – it offers many activities and attractions of a wide variety. The most well known attraction being the heads – two great sandstone cliffs guarding the mouth of the lagoon which connects the estuary with the sea.

A lookout has been erected on the Eastern Head, commanding spectacular views of the lagoon, Leisure Isle and Knysna. The Western Head is a privately owned nature Reserve – Featherbed Bay. The Knysna Lagoon is one of the few places along the coast and in the world that supports a oyster hatchery. And the Knysna oysters are reputedly among the tastiest in the world.

Millwood House Museum in Queen Street houses material relating to the history of the town, and includes artifacts once owned by George Rex. It was built from yellowwood at the end of the previous century during the gold rush. From Millwood, it was later moved to Knysna.

Knysna has many attractions in the surrounding area as well, one of the most spectacular being the Knysna Forest, which is still evident in many places within the town as well. It is the largest indigenous forest in South Africa comprising of tall and ancient trees of local and exotic species, including stinkwood, yellowwood, blackwood, ironwood, white alders and Cape chestnut.

Not forgetting the ferns, creepers and wild flowers which add colour to this endless green collage. The forest is vast and extremely dense in places making it impenetrable. Animal life is limited to a few small antelope and a large variety of birds, such as the famous Knysna Loerie. Home to the once great herds of Knysna Elephants, it is believed that only one lonely cow remains today.

Another historical attraction are the Millwood Gold Mines. Alluvial gold was found here in 1885, which caused a rush to the area. At Jubilee Creek, the exact spot where gold was found, provides a tranquil and beautiful picnic area, with many enjoyable forest walks in the area. Buffalo Bay is the closest beach to knysna, one of the safest for swimming along the coast and enjoyed by many holiday makers every year. It is very rocky in places, making it a great angling spot, there is also a small slipway available for small boats.

Nokia 8600 Luna: Leaves You Moon Struck

Saturday, December 6th, 2008

Some handsets are born to inspire, and the all new Nokia 8600 Luna is one of the creed…it is constantly attracting a lot of consumer attention towards it. This mobile phone is certainly high on fashion and has a lot of `X` factor that is pulling a good deal of clientèle towards it.

To review this handset in detail, Nokia 8600 Luna looks like a distant cousin of the super high end Nokia 8800 Sirocco and looks quite stylish as compared to the latter. As far as the specifications are concerned, it seems that it is very well specified than the high end sirocco phone. Its smoked glass sliding panel looks very much appealing that unravels the numeric keypad underneath. The TFT display of this mobile phone unravels a spectrum of 256,000 colours through it. So overtly, Nokia 8600 looks quite impressive at its face value.

Technically, Nokia 8600 works on Quad-Band GSM network that practically makes it work at every corner of the world, including the parts of America. Further, with the presence of features as GPRS, EDGE and Bluetooth, the connectivity looks like a real no problem in this case. This phone can easily browse the world wide web and also also send and receive e-mails through it.

There is a high resolution 2 Mega Pixels camera, that is also present in this device that is able to store images with crystal clear quality. And the second standard feature of this high end device is an MP3 music player that plays music at your will. The inclusion of an FM radio also keeps you updated with the latest events around the world. The memory of Nokia 8600 seems meagre in dearth of an external card slot, however, its 128 MB user memory looks amply sufficient as well.

Thus the Nokia 8600 Luna one of the high end mobile phones that not only look stylish but also consists of some of the best features of mobile telephony, which makes it a device worth it.

We at Mobile Phones are offered free latest handsets as a part of contract like Nokia 8600 Mobile Phone deals & Nokia Mobile Phones with lots of offers and free gifts.

Vivadi Saturn HD50 – 50 inches of Plasma TV Heaven and a Picture Quality That Leaves You Speecheless

Friday, December 5th, 2008

With Christmas heading towards us at a “rapid rate of knots” – so to speak, most of us tend to review how well the TV or DVD Players so as not to miss out on all of the TV Films. The aim of this article is to help you make your mind up if you are interested in buying a Vivadi Saturn HD50.

Purchasing a new TV today is an important decision. The idea of parting with what could be a couple of hundred notes does tend to concentrate the mind somewhat.

Given the speed and rapidity of technological advances nowadays think carefully about whatever purchase you make and try and ensure within reason the future compatibility of your TV with industry standards.

The latest telecommunication system for broadcasting moving pictures and sound is known as Digital television (DTT) and as the name implies this relies upon the transmission and reception of digital signals as opposed to the more conventional analogue formats. There are a number of different ways to receive digital television. One of the oldest means of receiving DTV (and TV in general) is using an antenna (known as an aerial in some countries).

For the purposes of this article we want to take a look at purchasing a new Flat Screen Television and in this case the television in question is the Vivadi Saturn HD50.

The Saturn HD50 is a 50in Plasma TV and currently these TV`s can be found for 8000 pounds sterling or 16000 US dollars. The resolution of the screen is 1366 X 768 and with regards to being HD Ready the answer is yes. The Vivadi has 1 (no RGB) scarts and the type and number of Multimedia interfaces the Saturn HD50 uses is HDMI and 2. The type of Tuner for this TV is Analogue and Digital and the Vivadi is available from limited outlets only.

All these points being taken into consideration, how would we view the Vivadi Saturn HD50?

First up, we would look at the picture quality and our score here would be 10 out of 10, and for the sound quality we would rate it at 10 out of 10. Taking a look at the number of relevant connections and their availability, our score would be 10 out of 10. With regards to the overall level of features, our view would be 10 out of 10 and for ease of use and overall value for money we would give it, 8 out of 10 and 6 out of 10 respectively.

Finally our overall opinion would be when you look at the scores we gave it you get a fairly good picture of what our team felt when they reviewed. This may sound slightly stupid and very obvious but now and then you can give a Tva good score on a technical basis but not really “fall in love” with the entire package. In this case the big down side is the price it has to be said but if you have the cash or can get your hands (legally) on the money thenm do whatever you have to do to get one of these pieces of kit. The Picture quality alone just leaves most people speechless!

It is extremely unlikely given the variety and range of makes and models available that you will not be able to find something to match your tastes or budget.

It probablt doesn`t need repeating but might be an idea, this is only our opinion of the [keyword] and not an official endorsement of the Vivadi Saturn HD50 either way, good or bad.

Please bear in mind the prices that are quoted in this article and take note that they are there purely for illustration and though valid at the time of the writing of the article may vary from time to time and also depending on the time of year when you make your purchase.

DirecTV Leaves the Competition Behind

Friday, December 5th, 2008

DirecTV, a satellite television provider, was launched 13 years ago. As it stands today, they have rose above their original customer count of 320,000 and gained over 16 million customers with the expectation to grow another million by the end of the year. When you see those numbers, you can easily understand why DirecTV has stayed the top satellite provider for many years. This company outranks all Cable Televison operators when customer satisfaction is measured. When you take into consideration these factors as well as the ones mentioned below, one can see how it has been able to achieve top performance in a fierce competitive business.

Enticing New Customers

Providing consumers with the highest quality product(s) and best prices is the best way to overcome competition in any field of business. There are numerous ways DirecTV goes about this. There is no equipment to buy and no start-up costs for new subscribers. You could receive, free from charge, a standard installation of a 4-Room System just by signing up. What this means is you can simultaneously watch four different programs in four different rooms in your home. This option is perfect for families and people who share their living space with others. Just because someone else is watching TV won`t mean you will miss your favorite shows anymore. Go to another room and watch; you won`t miss a thing or disturb others.

Free Equipment Upgrades

Direct TV offers a free DVR or HD Receiver to new customers With a DVR, you can pause/rewind live TV if you need to watch something again and again When you are done, you may proceed with viewing your show or you may return to real time. With a DVR, you can record shows for playback later, up to 100 hours of them. You can program the DVR to record and store the entire season of a show, sporting events, and even record two shows at once. To maximize the potential of your High Def Television, use an HD Receiver. To watch High Definition television you need an HD reciever, without it you will miss the trademark picture clarity that sets it apart from standard television.

Cable Television Does Not Have The Upper Hand Anymore

There was a time when Cable had several advantages over Satellite TV because of certain things it could offer that Satellite could not. Those days are over now because providers like Direct TV can offer those same options and more. Local channels are now available on Satellite where they were only once available on Cable. This also applies to High Speed Internet.

Satelite providers now offer this and have an advantage over Cable because they can bring High-Speed Internet access to very rural areas where there is no Cable service. Think of the other satellite capabilities which cable can never equal. One is that your Direct TV dish can be used on your boat or RV, giving you television access wherever you are. No electricity power? No problem! Check your local weather for updates and news on your dish- just as long as you have a generator! Cable uses main power grids and lines to give out a signal so it won`t work. Satellite TV only needs an unobstructed view of the sky to receive its signal.

The Word is in on DirecTV Satellite Savings

By looking at the details, its not hard to see why Direct TV has more than 16 million customers, with more and more every day. Visit one of their respectable online retailers to learn more about the deals and offers they have.

Laser leaves mark on fruit

Friday, December 5th, 2008

A LASER beam may be lighting the way of the future at an organic farm in Queensland Australia.

Fruit and vegetables at Googa Farms are being labelled with a laser that makes a permanent mark on the skin without affecting the flesh.

The system is the first to be installed in Australia.

As the food is effectively branded, the label cannot be swapped or tampered with.

It also uses far less electricity than a sticker machine – the same amount as a light bulb.

The laser can label 14 pieces of fruit a second, however Googa Farms director Anthony Beutel said he had set the machine to label “only” five pieces of fruit a second.

“It`s certainly much quicker than stickering them by hand,” Mr Beutel said.

“It seemed pointless buying stickers to be just looked at and then thrown away.”

So far the Natural Light Labelling System – made by manufacturing company Durand Wayland – has been used on avocados, pumpkins and tomatoes.

It sits above a conveyor belt equipped with dishes for the fruit or vegetable.

The laser points down at the produce and is activated when an inbuilt sensor detects it.

Googa Farms sales manager Nick Miall said the machine could also print a phrase or picture on the produce, such as “Merry Christmas” or “Happy Father`s Day”.

“We can write whatever we want, if a customer wants their name on it we can do that as well,” Mr Miall said.

He said the business should recoup the $80,000 set-up cost within five years.

Victorian Farmers Federation horticulture group president Peter Cochrane said the laser offered an easy way for consumers to distinguish between different suppliers.

“Some of the bigger pack houses would definitely use it,” Mr Cochrane said.

He said it could also replace individual stickering, which he labelled “a pain”.

Autumn Leaves For Fashion By August She Is Mine

Monday, December 1st, 2008

Mid July and there is, for the first time a sense of seasonal change in evening air. Certain leaves are beginning to turn fresh inspiration for fashion designers

But don’t think doom and gloom, conversely its cause for celebration, when the autumn leaves start falling, new fashions will be blooming.

Near on September fresh styles will be hitting the decks of the high street stores and, the economy willing, shoppers will be out in droves.

The really good news is for men, finally there will be out of ordinary natural enough floral’s to choose from.

For the adventurous there are floral suits and some dandy hats, it’s the 70’s all over, a very productive decade for many of the arts, music, style innovation and architecture.

And to brighten up any grey autumn skies there will be plenty of men’s jewellery to dress up your outfit.

The line up is impressive, new designers eking out an existence along side the rich and famous, but regardless of your position in the industry hierarchy, the essence is in the flower (the product)

When a fashion designer thinks they’ve made, it will be the beginning of their decline. We’ve seen it happen to many, there is no immunity once the creative drive is consumed by power and revenue the end is nigh.

Ian Flaherty has been around a long time always worth a mention because of his Swarovski crystal cube designer cufflinks, which has been mimicked by many other brands. But one has been able improve on the original.

Vivienne Westwood needs no introduction but her designs do, because they change with the season. The focus on improving the status men’s jewellery is working well. In her mid 60’s is at the peak of creativity.

A little taste: The Diamante Red Orb, for the passionate, the “Yes No Maybe” for the undecided, the “Touch Wood” for the superstitious and our favourite the multi coloured mini orb.

For the traditionalists there is the classic “To Fast To Too Young To Die” in skull and cross bones and large Army Tags.

She is not known greatly for gift wear, but there is one to mention, The Swiss Army Knife, complete with skull and cross bones fully authenticated with Vivienne Westwood’s signature on the back.

Now it’s time to paddle our on drum. As a virtually unknown designer brand we’ve introduced a range of designer silk ties that challenge conservatism, but also conform through using floral’s and more traditional stripes and checks.

But coming in September the range increases mainly in the direction of floral, why? because of compliance to consumer demand.

For us, being unknown is not a weakness, it’s a challenge and an opportunity to work in coalition with brands such as Timothy Everest, Ian Flaherty, Veritas, Vivienne Westwood Our role is increasing awareness of their collections via the internet.

Like any industry, you can’t go it alone and expect to succeed. As an independent retailer we acknowledge the importance of interdependency.

We are influenced by other designers, but also draw inspiration from the natural environment that surrounds us and culminate with a little history.

One last thing; collar stiffeners, if you’re frustrated with collars turning under at the end, or bulging in the middle? Then a pair of London Badge and Button collar stiffeners will solve both problems.

They will also perform the function of holding your tie knot firmly in place all day. Because Lbb use resin you don’t to worry about them coming out of the wash if you forget.

A practitioner of strategic planning in business alignment: He is developing a new brand of fashion accessories for men as a truly independent alternative: Concurrently purveying designer silk ties, silver, crystal and enamel cufflinks, fine leather wallets, plus a collection of jewellery by noted British designers, such as, Vivienne Westwood, Timothy Everest, Ian Flaherty, Veritas, Lbb London, Simon Carter, Michelsons and Shane McCoubrey. Perpetuating traditional English made clothing accessories is part of our ethos.

Conversion Optimization: Picking Up Where SEO Leaves Off

Sunday, November 30th, 2008

Search engine optimization (SEO) gets them to the site. What they do (or don`t do) once SEO has done its job is up to the site owner or designer.

Most visitors view the home page and leave. Wrong products. Weird typeface, confusing navigation – it can be anything from color motif to lack of clear prices. SEO gets them there, but it doesn`t convert them to buyers.

What Is Conversion Optimization?

Is it easy for visitors to find the right product? Is check-out convenient, offering numerous payment options? Is there a telephone number visitors can call to talk to a human? If not, the site isn`t conversion optimized.

In broad terms, conversion optimization enhances the visitors` experience when they visit to browse. A site so optimized is: engaging, attractive, very simple, convenient and secure. The objective?

Enable visitors to quickly find what they`re looking for and to move without delay through the site`s checkout – just as in the brick-and-mortar world of retailing.

How To Optimize Conversion

Undertake Regular Site Analysis

Site metrics are statistics, raw data that reveal visitor actions (or inactions) and behaviors. There are dozens of site analysis programs that create metrics to help with site refinement.

To develop useful metrics, first establish a site baseline for comparison as conversion optimization is underway. Maintain records of metrics to determine which refinements are working and which aren`t.

Target Metrics To The Most Desired Action (MDA)

The first step in improving conversion rates is to define the site`s objective – to sell products, disseminate information, generate click-throughs or provide customer service, for instance. With the site`s objective defined, it becomes easier to develop metrics useful to increasing the number of people who perform the most desired action.

A commercial site owner wouldn`t find `number of pages viewed` especially useful since it`s not specific to the site`s goal – to sell product. On the other hand, developing a list of keywords used by most buyers would be useful. It`s a great way to refine a site`s keyword list.

Metrics programs generate raw data. That`s all. It takes an understanding of ecommerce dynamics to turn that data into useful information, aka site metrics. And the important first step in the development of utile information is to define the site`s objective.

A site owner or web designer should be able to state a site`s objective in one, short sentence. If it takes more than that, redefine the site objective. Then develop the metrics that facilitate an improved conversion rate.

Applying Site Metrics

The purpose in developing site metrics is to create a data-based strategy to induce more visitors to perform the MDA. It`s not enough to identify problems and trends. Site owners must then take action to address problems and enhance the visitors` overall site experience.

For example, site metrics might reveal that less than 5% of traffic ever gets past the home page. In this case, breakdown the home page to find why so many visitors leave. Too confusing? Too much information? Not enough? Convoluted navigation? If only five out of 100 visitors ever see interior pages, something is wrong with the home page.

Another example? Which search engines are delivering the most traffic? And why? Is it simply page rank? Does the site even show up on SERPs?

Useful site metrics will provide data on visitor activity, search engine activity, keywords, text and layout, checkout procedures and virtually every other aspect of site design and its impact on visitors.

Site Usability and Conversion Rate

The easier it is for a visitor to perform the MDA, the more likely it will be performed. If buyers don`t find complete, detailed descriptions of products, they`ll be less likely to make a purchase.

If they`re confronted with endless data fields that must be completed, they`re less likely to complete the on-line form. The ultimate objective in site analysis, therefore, is to improve the usability of the site. The more useful and usable the site, the higher the conversion rate.

Usability encompasses both site structure and site skin – what visitors actually see. Site architecture should be designed to accommodate visitors in several ways. Ease of navigation is, certainly, important. But so is page weight. Visitors just won`t wait for long downloads anymore.

An easy-to-use, flexible and secure checkout, with numerous payment options, increases a site`s usability. And a one-click check-out is an ideal usability option that repeat buyers appreciate.

Accessibility is another aspect of site success. Is the text helpful, informational and easy to read or is it just hard sell content? Are navigation links large and clearly labeled? Is a site map available from every interior page?

A recent study published by DoubleClick.com indicates that more than half of all visitors who place something in their shopping carts fail to actually make the purchase. These buyers made the purchase decision, but there was no follow-through. Perhaps they found the check-out process confusing, or lacked the confidence in the site to enter personal information on line. The point is, something happened between purchase decision and final check-out. Chances are, lack of site usability was at least partially to blame.

Additional Benefits to Improving Site Usability

Improving conversion rate is, indeed, the primary objective of site refinements to enhance usability. However, site owners derive a number of on-going benefits in the regular development of useful site metrics.

Analytics will improve download times, increasing the likelihood of visitors staying around. Pages packed with animated graphics, Flash scripting and QuickTime demonstrations can be broken up to lessen download times.

With a highly-usable site that delivers everything visitors need to complete the MDA, site owners will lower costs for customer support and service. If a visitor can log-on to view the status of an open order, there will be fewer telephone calls to customer support.

With conversion optimization, routine site maintenance costs will be lowered. The site is visitor friendly, SE friendly and compliant with all open programming standards.

Finally, a site optimized for ease of use and visitor convenience generates more repeat traffic and more repeat sales. And repeat sales are the foundation of any retail business – virtual or real world.

The Process of Conversion Optimization

Metrics should be developed regularly and compared to previous results to identify the activities of visitors. They should also be developed to suit the site`s purpose and MDA.

With useful metrics, a strategy of site refinement should be developed and implemented in stages. At each stage, new metrics should be produced to determine whether recently implemented refinements have had the desired effect. If so, initiate the next stage. If not, determine the problem and refine accordingly.

Remember that visitors are looking for convenience, ease-of-use, helpful information and security. The long-term objective is to increase site usability through refinement, measurement, further refinement and further measurement.

A higher conversion rate will naturally follow.

An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

“An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind”
Mahatma Ghandi

An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind. Such a deep realization by the Mahatma at a time of great struggle! Thus, from a deep spiritual level we cannot truly justify any act of violence – especially one in which other lives are lost – under any guise, even in defence of our personal feelings of pain and suffering.

When we act out of aggression, we have already lost the battle, because the real war we are fighting is the one within. When faced with a challenge or conflict, our “animal” instinct is to either fight or take flight, but as “human beings” we know we have the power of reason, so perhaps we have a third option: to step back, and evaluate with compassion or experience.

Yet why do we revert to acts of anger? Could it be that the soul has not experienced peace and love and how these qualities can in fact help move mountains? If someone has seen only black, how can we expect them to know the beauty of a rainbow? When we are exposed to a rainbow and the many shades of grey, we go beyond the face value, recognizing we have choices.

Spirituality seeks to achieve peace of mind. If we acquire a taste for this, then very little can shake us from that inner throne of peace? Spirituality, then, is a gentle reminder, that since wars begins in the minds of men; it is there that they need to be resolved. Until and unless one has had an experience of mercy and love, then it is hard to go beyond violence. Violence is a weakness in the soul; ultimately, violence is an act of selfishness, self-centred and uncompassionate behaviour. It reflects a person or nation or world that has not matured and is not willing to live its highest potential.

When we begin to explore and discover our innate powers of peace and love and the joy they bring, only then do we discard the path of aggression or violence. We can now exercise full inner control and this is the war we have been longing to win!

Message from Dadi Janki, Joint Administrative Head, Brahma Kumaris

“My Spiritual Brothers and Sisters,

Recent events in London and in the rest of the world show us how futile the cycle of violence is. They signal us to remain constantly in God`s remembrance so that we can be fearless and also careful in every step that we take. At such a time, it is essential to fill our hearts with God`s love. Only then can we transform the hatred and anger that is in the hearts of human beings who have forgotten their humanity. Sharing the power of God`s light and love with the world will enable the hearts of those who perpetrate violence to be transformed and the hearts of those who have suffered violence to be healed. With such hope, courage and strength we can help to bring peace to the world.”

Om Shanti
