Internet Marketing – Who can you trust? By Kathleen Gage

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

It seems one of the greatest challenges for those new to the world of Internet Marketing is to know who to trust when it comes to who they are, what they know and have they truly accomplished that which they claim to be an expert at?
Here are a few recommendations on how you can minimize getting sucked into the next “get rich quick” scheme and find those who are “the real deal”.
1. Listen to what your mom used to say…”If it seems too good to be true, it likely is.”
2. Running a business on the Internet is like running a brick and mortar business. You are running a business. Period. There are likely no shortcuts and if these “experts” are telling you there are and you don’t have to work at this, turn and run the other way….fast!
3. Anything you are going to be successful at takes time, effort and energy. If someone says you only have to buy their program with no work involved, that’s a bunch of baloney.
4. Before simply taking an “experts” word that they are the greatest thing since sliced bread, do you homework. Google them, check with your colleagues, research their product offerings. You can get some amazing information by going into forums specific to their market and expertise. How do you find the forums? Go to Google, put in “forum + (whatever the topic is)”. This should bring up some great information.
5. Realize that those of us making six and seven figures a year work for what we have. We have systems in place and we do what I recommended in point #2. We treat our business like a business. We have been around long enough to earn the trust from our market.
With as easy as it is for someone to put up a website or blog and create the illusion of position, you are well served to be leery of many of the so-called experts. Do your research before plopping down your hard-earned money.
Once you do know that someone is the real deal and can be trusted, the next step is to put into action what you learn from them.
As much as you experience frustration from not knowing whom to initially trust, experts experience frustration from people who buy their programs and then turn those programs into dust collectors.
Do yourself a favor, if you have programs you have purchased and have not done anything with them, take them down from the shelf or open the file on your hard drive, put some time aside to review the information, apply at least a few of the recommendations and watch what happens. You may be surprised at how quickly you can get results with a focused and committed effort.

4 tips to gain the trust of your mailing list

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

While the rest of the world have developed many barriers and protections to keep their e-mail accounts spam-free, there are also those that subscribe to mails that promote their products, services and their site. This is mainly because these subscribers want to know more about what these sites are offering and can be beneficial for them. They expect to get be kept posted on what they are interested in and what is new in the market or field they have chosen.

Businesses would be lucky to have these kinds of customers; the basic element needed to get these types of people is trust. When your customers trust you they will reward you with their loyalty. Many internet users have gone to great lengths in protecting their email accounts from spam mail. Some free-mail internet providers and internet service providers offer spam protection while there are also some internet based companies that screen your mails for you.

With an opt-in mailing list, the mails you send containing your promotional materials such as newsletters, catalogues and marketing media – will go through. Your intended recipient will be able to read and view what you have sent making it a successful transfer of information. To be able to be allowed to do so, you will need permission from your recipient, to get this permission; you need to be able to get their trust. With the great lack of disregard for privacy in the internet, getting the trust of an internet user you don’t personally know is a big achievement.

To build a good opt-in list you need people to trust you, for a faster and quicker build up, you need to get your opt-in subscribers to trust you quickly. The faster you build your opt-in list the faster word about your site and company gets to be spread. The bigger the scope of your opt-in list, the more traffic you get, spelling more profits. Its easy math if you think about it. Getting the numbers is not that simple though, or maybe it is?

• Getting the trust of your clientele shouldn’t be so hard especially if you do have a legitimate business. Getting your customers trust should be based upon your expertise. People rely on other people who know what they are talking about. Garner all the knowledge and information you can about your particular business. Well frankly, if you decide to go into a business, most probably you have an interest in it. Like how many basketball payers become coaches, you don’t really venture into something you don’t have any interest in.

• Show your clients that you know what you are talking about. Provide them with helpful hints and guidelines that pertain to what you are selling. Talk about how to install a roof if your into hardware products or provide articles on insurance settlements if you’re a settlement lawyer. You don’t have to be a big corporation to make use of an opt-in list. If your customers see you as someone who knows what he is doing and saying, they will trust you quickly.

• Be true to your customers, if you want to hype up your products and services – provide guarantees. The more satisfied customers you get, the bigger probability there is that they will recommend you. Generally, people will trust someone they know, when that someone recommends you, then you’re a shoo-in. They will go to your site and check it for themselves and be given a chance to experience what the others have experienced from you, so make sure to be consistent in the service you provide.

• Another tip in getting a customer to trust you quickly is to provide them an escape hatch. Show them that you are not there to trap them. Keep a clean list that would enable them to unsubscribe anytime they want. Elaborate your web form by providing information on how to unsubscribe from the list. Guarantee them that they can let go of the service when ever they want to. Many people are wary that they may be stuck for life and would have to abandon their email accounts when they get pestered with spam.

Remember that when you get the trust of your clients don’t lose that trust. Because if you do anything with their email addresses like sell them or give them out, you will lose many members of your list as well as potential members. The true quickest way to gain the trust of your subscribers is when you are recommended by someone they trust.

Here Is How To Trust The Right Internet Security Review Sites

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

As more and more people and businesses become increasingly dependent upon their computers and on fast and reliable access to the internet through broadband connections, there are increasing concerns about the internet threat security trends these days. Sometimes it seems that there are almost as many solutions to the internet threats as there are threats.

This can make it daunting to choose the right internet security software. Fortunately, there are several internet security review sites that can help guide consumers to the best antivirus and security applications.

While it is helpful to have a variety of websites that offer reviews on computer internet security suite software choices, consumers also need to be aware that not all of these software review sites are above board. The fact is that the quality of the information and the reviews that are provided can vary greatly.

Poor reviews or outright misleading reviews can often lead PC owners down the wrong path. Because of this, these review website need to be looked at carefully in order to determine if they are truly providing valuable information, comparisons and feedback, or if they are simply a thinly veiled attempt to push a particular product.

These days, many people are motivated to create internet security review websites because of the commissions that they are able to earn when someone buys an internet security suite of software that they have recommended in the review. If the commission is substantial, then the affiliate who is promoting the product through the review site will very often skew the reviews in favor of the products that will pay them the highest commission.

This results in a great deal of misinformation on many of these sites and false reviews that try to make overpriced, high commission products look good to the unwitting consumer. However, this should not be taken to mean that all online security review sites are bad or misleading, but there are some things to look for to help the consumer feel more confident about the review they are reading and the internet security protection solution they ultimately buy.

In judging a website that offers product reviews, and this applies to any type of review site, not just sites that review internet safety products, the consumer should take a few moments to look over the site closely and asses the quality of the material that is being presented. Often, the affiliates who are after a juicy commission will spend very little time on the review site and will primarily repeat information that is available on the main website without offering any real insights or providing any useful information.

Another telltale sign of a poor quality security suite review website is that in many cases it will only review a couple of product and these reviews are posted anonymously and there is only one reviewer. The best internet security review websites will be structured in such a way that they encourage visitors to rate and review the products that are listed and add their own commentary. These are the kinds of review sites that offer visitors the best and most objective information and are a good way to avoid getting stuck with a product that is only being promoted because of a fat commission.

Can You Trust Collagen and Elastin Products?

Monday, December 29th, 2008

Can you trust all the collagen and elastin products on the market today? The answer is absolutely not. Even though these products are quite popular and are making cosmetic companies millions of dollars; they are worthless. Looking after our skin is very important. As we age, our skin loses vital proteins that keep it pliable and moist.

Due to this change in our appearance, people are always looking for ways to reverse the aging effects. Collagen and elastin products are marketed specifically to people who are not aware of the scientific process at work. Collagen and elastin are both proteins that provide our skin with the elasticity and texture our skin has when we were younger.

The reason these collagen and elastin products do not work is that you cannot topically apply them, as they cannot be absorbed into your skin due to the size of their molecules. It is just not possible. This is a proven medical fact.

Now just because collagen and elastin products do not work, it does not mean that skin care products do not work. You have to know what to look for and what the right ingredients are as well. Even though you cannot topically apply these vital proteins, you can stimulate their re-production with anti aging products that contain specific natural ingredients.

There are skin care products that contain natural ingredients that do what they advertise unlike the collagen and elastin products marketed by brand name companies. One of the natural substances that work at stimulating the production of these important proteins is phytessence wakame. This substance is extracted from a type of Japanese sea kelp.

Another natural substance used in the making of effective skin care products is Cynergy TK. It is derived from the wool of sheep in New Zealand. It contains keratin, which has been proven to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin in human skin.

Collagen and elastin products are not effective if they do not contain natural ingredients that stimulate the re-production of the vital proteins collagen and elastin. To get more information on these natural substances, visit my website today.

Use Online Surveys To Build Customer Trust And Loyalty And Thrive During The Recession

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

The ongoing financial crisis and talk of recession has left a lot of Internet marketers worried about whether they will be able to stay in business over the coming months and years. Many people who now work from home on the Internet are also worried about whether or not they will be able to continue selling their products and services.

However, an economic crisis also offers opportunities as well as dangers. In times of anxiety and economic uncertainty the business that responds to customers` needs and wins their trust is the one that will survive and prosper in the midst of doom and gloom.

Because of the interactive nature of the Internet it offers many opportunities for online marketers to get to know their customers and website visitors, learn what they want and respond to their needs by engaging them in a friendly, informal dialogue that develops into a relationship of trust.

This relationship building process can be done in several ways, for example by inviting people to comment on your blog posts and then responding with follow-up comments. Another option is to participate in forums that attract your target market. Social network marketing sites, email, instant messaging and Skype all offer the Internet marketer opportunities to communicate with clients at various levels of intensity in order to discover where they are coming from and build rapport with them.

The key is to build trust by listening and then following up with products and services that meet their needs at prices that suit their pockets. Remember, it takes time to build trust. Trust is a two way process that is both rational and emotional. You cannot win a prospect`s trust without putting in some preliminary spade work. Rushing at them with products first is not a great way to raise your credit rating with your prospects.

One good way of getting to know your target market better is to set up an online survey and offer your prospects an incentive to complete it. The great thing about online surveys is that they take full advantage of the interactive nature of the internet and are cheap or even free to run as well as being easy to set up. You can use online platforms such as Surveypro.com or Surveymonkey.com to set up and manage your survey from.

You can use a customer survey to find out about your customers` impressions of the products or services you offer. Another approach is to keep the survey focused firmly on the customer. Either way, make sure you have a clear focus from the beginning so that everybody knows why they are taking the survey.

Offer your prospective survey takers an incentive to do the survey such as a free report or ebook that can be downloaded on completion.

Keep the survey short, invite “yes” or “no” answers by asking closed-ended questions, include some multiple choice questions and assure participants that any private information they give you will remain confidential.

When you look over the results keep an eye out for trends and surprises.

Publish the results of the survey on your website or blog and invite comments.

The whole process of survey taking and reporting should be treated as a trust-building exercise and an opportunity for increased interaction with your client base.

A successful survey campaign will also have brought you a lot of valuable information about your target market which you can now use to present your prospects with goods and services that more closely match their needs and win their loyalty.

So, in recessionary times, a customer survey is an excellent tool for building stronger ties with your target market, winning the trust of your clientele and thriving in the midst of recession.

Dating Relationship: They Do Not Trust You

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

When it comes to this dating relationship, you have not done anything wrong or at least not anything worth mentioning. Countless times, you have told your dating partner how you felt about them. You are not an adolescent experiencing your first love or someone who is easily swayed by snappy patter and good looks. You have been in and out of more than a few relationships.

That`s life. You are not looking for a shoulder to cry on or someone to forgive you. What`s done is done. And now you have met someone that you feel good about. At times you think they feel the same way at other moments you get the sense they do not trust you.

It`s not that they have said so but your intuition is telling you something is up. Instead of trying to convince them to trust you, this may be a good time to step back and analyze whether you are dating someone who has issues when it comes to jealousy. While it may not be full blown at the present time, the green eyed monster has a way of quietly taking control of a relationship; so there are some things to be on the lookout for:

1. The Break up

No matter how many times you have tried to reassure your dating partner, they seem to have an obsession with the two of you splitting up. The longer you are in the relationship the more fearful they become. Anybody that you come into contact with makes them uneasy even if your dating partner was the one who introduced you. Check out their body language and also their mood. Even if they do not say anything a jealous partner`s mood will almost always take a turn for the worse.

2. The Monitor

You are in another room talking on your cell phone and your significant other comes in. They just have to find that thing they were looking for and they are pretty sure it`s in this room. Or they have a question that just can`t wait. Does any of this happen repeatedly? When you do get off the phone does your dating partner give you the third degree? May be you went somewhere by yourself or friends and your dating partner has to know the details in detail. Understand it does not necessarily mean they get overly emotional while cross examining you. They can do it with a smile on their face, a quiet voice and their attention focused elsewhere.

3. Creeping Control

It starts under the guise of helping you. Before you know it your dating partner is deciding who you should talk to and when. They did some checking and discovered that person you were talking to is not all they pretend to be. At first it`s okay. You thank them for watching out for you and their efforts make you appreciate them even more. Now it seems like everyone is a suspect. Again it`s all under the guise of doing things for your own good but in reality they are taking control of who can and cannot have access to you.

Everyone in a relationship needs to be reassured periodically by their significant other. That`s normal. No one wants to be taken for granted or left wondering whether the other person`s feeling towards them have changed. It can also be away of reaffirming the trust that two people have built within the relationship. But if nothing seems to comfort your dating partner then stay alert to the warning signs to make sure the twin gates of jealousy and control do not lock behind you.

Can You Really Trust Your Babysitter?

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

I was talking with a girlfriend last night who said her and her spouse almost became adoptive parents. They had been asked to be adoptees of a little boy had nobody claimed him. November is in truth, National Adoption Awareness Month. National Adoption Day is a collective national effort to raise awareness of the 129,000 children in foster care waiting to find assiduous, adoring homes. It`s heart wrenching to think of another human being not having the nurturing of a loving mother and father. To not feel cherished and cared for, or to have lost their parents at a juvenile age.

I never knew my grandparents from my mom`s side because my mom was born in Berlin, Germany. She lost her parents in the war when she was merely 10 years of age. Herself and her brother had to stay with their Grandfather, then their aunt who was really mean to them. My mother eventually ran away from home and moved in with a girlfriend and her parents. There are many other children right now who have had a harsh awakening to this life.

My husband and I always said the same thing. If we were ever going to have a kid, we would definitely adopt. We don`t want to be responsible to bring another human being into this cruel world, and there definitely are enough that are born without people to care for them. We would rather make someone else`s life the finest that we could make it since they are already alive and kicking.

I don`t care if it isn`t my own flesh and blood because as much as we love our pets like if they were human, we would definitely love and care for a child like if it were our own. For God`s sake, we can`t even go away without worrying about them. I can only imagine having to have a babysitter take care of a child! After the horror stories I`ve heard and saw on news shows, I probably wouldn`t be likely to focus at work. Some kids get slapped, others repeatedly molested. These are things that are the unimaginable, but an disturbing fact.

If you yourself have kids you adore and care for deeply, a nanny cam may be a life protecting essential. There are many hidden cameras that may be utilized. The most common is the teddy bear hidden camera.

Be abreast and safe!

Yours in Safety,

Regina Jacques

Trust Yourself to Lose Weight

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

As we know if you are an overweight people, the greater the excess, the more significant the health risk. Many people don`t know what the exact difference between overweight and obese is. If you are weight 10% above the expected body weight for basic need, it means you are overweight. When you are weight 20% over the expected body weight, you are an obese man. Are you clear now? To successfully lose weight, you must carry out a plan to balance your caloric intake with exercise. Ideally, dieting should be done by eating a nutritionally balanced, low-calorie diet and increasing physical activity.
There are many kinds of program waiting for you to choose from, you should know which one is best for you. So you should collect information as much as you can. Search out the programs on Google, talk to people you know and trust that have tried a weight loss program. Decide how much you can spend each month and how much weight you want to lose. Narrow your search down to two or three programs then dig deeper and get more information. The goal of most companies is to register you in their program first and then try to upgrade you. So look beyond the registration fee. Find out if there are other charges.
The entire weight-loss program cost your money. This is a business first and foremost no matter you realized it or not. The people behind most of the programs are business people. They have responsibilities to their shareholders and must continue to show a profit. They have to present a good product, one that you the public that will accept. All will have product testimonials so take these with a grain of salt. All will have fancy colorful brochures and modern offices staffed with beautiful skinny people. Do not let that influence your decision.
Of course overweight problem is a part of the aging process, but it`s not an inevitable part of it. If you understand why you are getting more and more weight, you can do something effective about it.

How to get your customers to trust your website

Sunday, December 21st, 2008

Research reveals three important facts:

1) The Internet is one of the most important sources of information.

2) The trustworthiness of the Internet is declining.

3) Customers will come back to your site if they trust it.

In the face of a declining trust in the Internet, there`s definitely value in creating a website which can be trusted by your visitors. But how do you do it? That`s what this article is all about.

But first, the research…

According to a recent major study, “Ten Years, Ten Trends”, conducted by the Center for the Digital Future (http://www.digitalcenter.org), a leading authority on the impact of the Internet, the Internet is still seen as one of the most important sources of information, but people are placing less faith in the reliability of that information.

These findings are supported by earlier research. American Express found that 73% of people use the Internet to gather information, and Lyra Research found that 48% of people use the Internet to find work-related information as opposed to 7% who use magazines. When it comes to reliability of information, A.T. Kearney found that workers take so long trying to find information that it costs organisations $750 billion annually!

But never fear! All is not lost. It is possible to stem the tide – at least as far as your own website is concerned. According to Nielsen NetRatings, helpful website content develops site loyalty. The average person visits no more than 19 websites in the entire month in order to avoid information overload – they tend to rely on the sites that they can trust to help them.

So how do you make yours one of those sites? How do you inspire trust in your visitors?

The answer is simple – make your website copy trustworthy!

Following are 8 steps that`ll put you on the road to a trustworthy website.

STEP 1 – Always include your contact details

Always! This includes an email address, phone numbers, fax numbers, and address. Without these details, you`ll look like a fly-by-night operation.

STEP 2 – Tell us who you are

Dedicate a page of copy to the people who run your company. You don`t need to say much – just provide a little history. Talk about their work history, career highlights, education and qualifications, etc. And it never hurts to include a little personal information as well. Let your readers know who you are.

STEP 3 – Know it & Show it

It`s not enough that you know what you`re talking about. Your readers have to know you know it! This normally means including a little bit of technical information or some other titbit that potential customers will recognise as expertise. (And always check your facts before publishing. If possible, include statistics or some other form of research results.)

STEP 4 – Include samples & testimonials

Of course, if you`re going to talk the talk, you have to be able to walk the walk. Validate your claims by including samples of your previous work (if applicable), and testimonials from some satisfied customers.

STEP 5 – Something for nothing

Nothing inspires trust more than an offer of something for nothing. But you have to make sure that `something` is helpful. And make it doubly clear that it really is obligation-free. Nothing undermines credibility faster than the suspicion that there`s a hidden catch.

STEP 6 – Avoid advertorial style web copy

Don`t go on and on, page after page, repeating the same thing using different words. Make your point and make it quickly. Don`t insult your visitors` intelligence by implying that they`ll believe you if you just say it often enough! If you use advertorial style web copy, you`ll seem more interested in yourself than the business solution you`re offering your client.

STEP 7 – Avoid hard-sell web copy

Once again, don`t insult your visitors` intelligence. Hard-sell web copy can give the impression that you`re more interested in the sale than the business solution. Sure, create a sense of urgency with your web copy, but don`t overdo it.

STEP 8 – Talk benefits not features

When you talk features, you`re talking about your product or service – you`re talking about you. When you talk benefits, you`re showing that you`re interested in what the customer needs. Talking benefits is one of the best ways to engage your customer. (For more information on writing about benefits, see http://www.divinewrite.com/benefits.htm and http://www.divinewrite.com/webbenefitwriting.htm.)

Websites can be a great way to engage your customers and make sales. But you have to make sure your visitors trust what you say. And that means getting your web copy right.

Of course, it`s not ALL about the website copy. Obviously you also need a website design that inspires trust (see http://www.mc3.com.au for that).

Happy writing!
